Dr. Farzan Sasangohar is an Associate Professor of Health Systems Engineering in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering as well as Environmental and Occupational Health at Texas A&M University. He has served as a part-time scientist and division chief for health systems engineering at the Houston Methodist Center for Outcomes Research since 2017. He is also a Faculty Affiliate of the Engineering Medicine (ENMED) program. Dr. Sasangohar has published more than 100 peer-reviewed publications and has received more than $9 Million in research contracts and grants. He is the co-author of Design for Health: Applications of Human Factors in Healthcare and currently serves as the Editor-in-chief of Human Factors in Healthcare. He has received several international awards including the Dr. Hamed K. Eldin Outstanding Early Career Industrial Engineer in Academia Award from the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE); the William C. Howell Young Investigator Award from the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES), and the Bentzi Karsh Early-Career Service Award, from the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES). Dr. Sasangohar’s research interests include design, development, and evaluation of digital therapeutics, continuous monitoring of patients’ and providers’ health and performance, and mobile health systems.
