Human Factors Cast is a podcast that investigates the sciences of psychology, engineering, biomechanics, industrial design, physiology and anthropometry and how it affects our interaction with technology. Katie Sabo is currently an undergraduate student working on her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at CSULB, graduating in May of 2022. She serves as the CSULB HFES Student Chapter Outreach Coordinator with a focus on projects to increase member benefits, such as cross-club collaborations, organization of information into a central hub, documentation of processes, and monthly newsletter. Katie's current Human Factors interests include human factors in health care and accessibility in design.

Kristen Brown is a second year Master of Science, Human Factors candidate at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) and will be graduating May of 2022. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at CSULB in May of 2020. She has served as a member of the CSULB Human Factors and Ergonomics Society Student Chapter for two years and is currently holding the position as Vice President. Her current Human Factors interests include robotics, cognitive factors related to decision making, memory and individual differences, human computer interaction, stress, and workload.

Rachel Greenberg is a recent graduate from California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) with a Bachelor of Arts in Design. Her passion lies in inclusive user-centered design and she hopes to work on ergonomic product designs in the future. Currently, Rachel provides formatting, image sourcing, and typography advising for the Human Factors Cast Digital Media Lab as an Editorial Designer.

Nick Roome

Nick is currently a Senior UX Researcher at Turvo in the Pacific Northwest, focused on developing innovative solutions and optimizing human performance for SaaS based supply chain logistics programs. Alongside colleague and friend, Blake Arnsdorff, Nick hosts and produces Human Factors Cast, a weekly podcast that investigates the sciences of human factors, psychology, engineering, biomechanics, industrial design, physiology and anthropometry and how it affects our interaction with technology. Nick’s other areas of interest include, but are not limited to virtual, augmented, and mixed reality, systems engineering, and artificially intelligent systems.

Blake Arnsdorff

Co-Host

Blake is currently a UX Researcher at Facebook in San Diego California. Previously, Blake worked at Pacific Science & Engineering where he worked on bringing user-centered methods and design best practices to software systems of the United States Naval Fleet. He’s also taught for Design Lab, where he helps people learn the methods and science behind user experience in order to transition from their current career into the field of user experience. Alongside colleague and friend, Nick Roome, Blake co-hosts Human Factors Cast a weekly podcast, featuring news stories each week that highlight the importance of human factors considerations in design, development, and implementation of emerging technologies. Blake’s other areas of interest include design and development of web applications, virtual reality experiences, and mobile applications.

Morgan is currently a graduate student pursuing a Master of Human Computer Interaction at Iowa State University, graduating Spring 2023. She holds a BFA in Film & TV from New York University. After years of working in design for film, TV, and events, she began studying HCI with the goal of researching and designing for immersive experiences that sit at the intersection of the physical and digital world. Her interests include emerging technologies in industries such as media, entertainment, education, and healthcare.
